The Health Professions Council of South Africa is a statutory body, established in terms of the Health Professions Act and is committed to protecting the public and guiding the professions.

Fitness to Practice
In terms of our mandate to guide the professions and protect the public, the HPCSA is responsible for ensuring that our practitioners are fit to practice and are not impaired due to any physical or mental ill health.
